New Industrialisation and Technology Training Programme

 

NITTP

New Industrialisation and Technology Training Programme – NITTP (新型工業化及科技培訓計劃) is a funding scheme under the New Industrialisation Support Scheme of the Innovation and Technology Fund that subsidises local companies on a 1:1 matching basis to train their staff in advanced technologies, especially those related to “New Industrialisation”.

What type of companies is eligible to apply for the training grant?

Each company is subject to a funding ceiling of HK$250,000 in each financial year at the course commencement date. Approved NITTP offers up to 50% course fee reimbursement upon successful applications. 

Companies that meet the following 3 conditions will be eligible to apply for NITTP –

Industry 4.0

Industry 4.0, aka Fourth Industrial RevolutionI, can be defined as the integration of smart digital technologies into manufacturing and industrial processes. Industry 4.0 enables smart manufacturing and the establishment of smart factories, includes 9 different technologies for transformation: Internet of Things (IoT), Simulation, Cloud Computing, Automation, Integration, Cybersecurity, Augmented Reality, Additive Manufacturing and Big Data. Industry combines technology for innovation, aiming to improve productivity, efficiency and flexibility, while achieving more smart decision-making and customization of manufacturing and supply chain operations.

Laws and Regulations

Our Education Centre and trainees shall conform in all respects with all applicable laws and regulations (including without limitation the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Safeguarding National Security in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region) (“National Security Law”). We shall: (a) report immediately to the relevant law enforcement agency/agencies if any act or activity relating to the operation of any NITTP course, or any information, material or otherwise of the NITTP course, is suspected to have contravened any National Security Law or to be contrary to the interest of national security; (b) notify the NITTP Secretariat whenever a report to any law enforcement agency/agencies is made; and (c) notify the NITTP Secretariat if the applicant company or any of the employees who is nominated for attending any NITTP course has been or is under Police investigation for, charged with or convicted of any offence endangering national security or other criminal offences in Hong Kong or elsewhere.
